Europe Direct Information Centre of Nova Gradiška (EDIC Nova Gradiška) is one of the four open centres in Croatia, serving as the main tool of the European Union, its mission is to complement and support the work of the Representation of the European Commission and the European Parliament information office at the local and regional level.
The aim of the centre is to enable all citizens easy access to information about the European Union, in particular information on the rights of citizens, the European Union priorities, legislations, policies, programs and funding opportunities, promoting participatory citizenship at local and regional level. The purpose is to create opportunities for presenting and exchanging their own views in all areas of the European Union, in particular those that affect to daily lives of citizens.
The Europe Direct Information Centre increases the communication capability of the European Union and strengthens synergies and coordination with other EU networks for information and assistance, which cover specific policy areas. There are currently around 500 Europe Direct Information Centres in 28 countries of the European Union. They are a link between the citizens and the EU and they provide citizens with answers to all question related to the EU. The European Commission manages the Network of the Europe Direct Information centre.
